June 1, 2015 – Week 18

18 1/2 weeks and counting! Rachel is starting to feel the babies moving around now – Very Exciting!!!

18 weeks

We are slightly past the half-way mark Dr. Wu set for us back in March. On our first visit to San Francisco, Dr. Wu said that if Rachel could make it to 35 weeks, he didn’t see any reason why we couldn’t have the babies delivered at our local Kaiser instead of making the trek to the City. It would be HUGE for her to make it to 35 weeks!!! (Fingers Crossed!) However, at this point – another 16 1/2 weeks seems like it will last an eternity, especially since Rachel still suffers from nausea and her body aches from carrying the extra weight of the babies. She weighed herself on our home digital scale and is at 160 lbs. Her weight gain has been consistent! But, much to her dismay – it hasn’t been the foodie free for all that you would think it could be. 😦

Over the weekend we made a trip to Costco to stock up on food supplies. Rachel got to drive around Costco in one of those little electric carts. While she didn’t win a ‘safe driver’ award for her efforts – she did manage to maneuver throughout the store without sending anyone to the Emergency Room!

Here’s a sample of what was on our shopping list (2 weeks!)

  • 4 gallons Whole Milk
  • 2 gallons Almond milk
  • 1 giant tub of fresh Strawberries
  • 2 packages 5 Cheese Tortellini
  • 1 Tri-Tip
  • 2 Pork Loins
  • 3 packages All Beef Natural Hot Dogs
  • 2 boxes Pure Protein Bar variety pack
  • 1 lb Vega Protein Powder
  • 1 case Premier Protein shakes
  • 1 lb Hemp Hearts
  • 1 lb Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 60 Pack String Cheese
  • Bananas
  • Apples
  • 1 case Cherry Tomatoes
  • 1 bag Organic Vegetable Stir Fry
  • Organic Brown Eggs
  • 12 cans Kirkland Signature Chunk Light SkipJack Tuna in Water
  • 1 bag Organic Mixed Berry Blend
  • 1 Gallon Orange/Mango/Papaya Juice
  • 1 Party Tray – Mixed Vegetables (Carrots, Celery, Broccoli, Snap Peas, etc…)
  • 12 Vanilla It’s It Ice Cream Sandwiches (I picked this out! 🙂  )
  • 2 Cases Crystal Geyser Sparkling Water

That’s quite a shopping list and I am sure that I forgot at least half of the things we bought. There’s one thing that I have learned while shopping at Costco. Every cart that you fill = $500 at the register. This trip was no different. (I think the basket on the electric cart = $150)
