Hey everybody, I know it’s been a while since the last update – I apologize, but as you probably already knew, life is pretty hectic right now!
The boys are 4 and 1/2 months old now & growing like weeds in a greenhouse. We took them to Kaiser for their 4 month checkup and all of them are doing really well.
Kaleo: 14 pounds 11 ounces 23.5 inches
Makani: 15 pounds 6.4 ounces 23.75 inches
Keoni: 17.8 pounds 24.25 inches
As of this post, we have reduced the number of feedings to 4 per day @8 ounces each. The pediatrician told us that we should aim for a maximum of 32 ounces per day. Poor Keoni was up to 45 ounces at one point. (No wonder he got so big!!!) Our main focus now is getting the boys enough sleep. It is recommended that at 4 months our boys should get between 13 to 17 hours sleep per day. We have also implemented a new bedtime routine where we give the boys a bath every night before bed. Our last feeding starts at 6pm and we try to have them in bed by 8pm. For the most part, Keoni can sleep through the night all the way to 730am! Makani & Kaleo need some soothing at some point in the night and they are usually good to sleep until 6 or 630am. So far so good!
Last week we had a couple of friends come over, Lori R. & Debbie G. to watch the boys so we could go out on a date night to a movie & dinner. We stopped at Jamison’s Roaring Donkey for a cocktail before seeing Star Wars. The movie was good – “kind of like a sad family reunion” (quote: Schuyler Jones) . But I am excited to see future installments of the series with the new cast of characters! Rachel had a Hibiscus Mule, I believe she liked it – you be the judge (picture below). For dinner we went to Central Market and had appetizers/dinner. It was a nice evening for our First Date since before the boys were born. When we got home, we were happy to discover that Lori & Debbie already had the boys tucked away and sleeping in their cribs! 🙂 Thank you girls sooo much!!!
That’s it for now!
Next up – Mama has another birthday 😀
